"Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes." - Carl Jung
Counselling can enable us to thrive, not just survive life's events and transitions.
Sometimes life can seem really hard. Whether it’s because of health or work related issues, money worries, relationship issues, or past or present events, sometimes it can feel that we are stuck in a repeating pattern and unable to change or move on from what is happening.
Trauma can take many forms, and affects us in unexpected ways. Grief, loss and bereavement are a part of life that can be devastating, and can cause us to think we will never get free.
Psychodynamic counselling provides a safe place and the consistent presence of a non-judgemental person, to help you explore the issues that are affecting you and the feelings that arise from them. It is not about advice giving, but is a particular kind of relationship where your counsellor supports you to explore and reflect on past events and how they have affected and helped shape the way you feel and respond now. This can enable new ways of thinking about your life, and help facilitate growth in your self-awareness and relationships. It can be a life-affirming, healing and transformative experience. It can also be hard at times, but this is all part of the work, and can be explored and worked with in the counselling.
