Kenneth Evans - Psychodynamic Counsellor & Psychotherapist Kenneth Evans BPC MBACP

I am a qualified Psychodynamic Counsellor and Psychotherapist with many years counselling experience working within the charity and educational sectors. I have worked with individual adults aged from 18 to 80+ for a vast range of issues, and have worked with couples where they need to jointly explore aspects of their relationship. I bring this range of experience to my counselling work, but in every situation I aim to treat every client with respect and as a unique individual.

I have been working with individuals in a one to one environment since 1990, and bring that history of experience into my counselling work. I trained for 5 years in psychodynamic counselling with GCS, and after gaining my diploma and qualifying I completed another year as a qualified counsellor on the Associate course. My training was initially accredited by the Westminster Pastoral Foundation (WPF) and subsequently by the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC).

Working with Individuals

In addition to my initial training in open-ended psychodynamic counselling, I have trained in psychodynamic time-limited therapy, and worked at The University of Gloucestershire working with young adults for time-limited counselling for up to 12 sessions. I have also worked with clients referred for time-limited counselling and funded by their employer, a large Gloucestershire based company, for up to 6 sessions. I currently provide both open-ended and time-limited counselling for individual adults and couples.

Working with Couples

In 2017, I undertook considerable postgraduate training in counselling couples in order to understand better the significant difference in working with couples. I feel that this additional training is fundamental to working with couples as the work is so different to one to one.

Compass Point

I now offer counselling at Compass Point in our welcoming, confidential and dedicated consulting room in the heart of Ross on Wye. I can also offer Skype / FaceTime online counselling in certain circumstances. On our first appointment we can discuss and explore together the issues that have brought you to counselling, what you hope for, and we can decide together on how we might best work together.

If you would like to arrange to see me for an initial assessment session, please phone 01989 940023, email me direct at Kenneth@CompassPointPotential.co.uk, or make contact with us at Compass Point through the Contact page. I retain a portion of my practice for patients on a low income and am therefore sometimes able to offer a reduced fee, for which I operate a sliding scale - depending on your financial situation. This would be discussed at the initial consultation.

"The questions asked helped me to identify my own issues. I am a lot more secure with my own identity, and a lot more forgiving of my flaws."
